Latest News

We are still experiencing an extremely high volume of calls from patients as soon as the phone lines open each morning which means that waiting times are much higher than anticipated.  With the new navigation system in place, we still have appointments in the afternoon, so please remember that you no longer need to rush to the phone at 8am to get an appointment and, if your call is not urgent, it may be easier for you to wait until later to speak to us on the phone.

Please note that if your GP has asked to see you for a follow up appointment they will give you a slip of paper with this request on.  You can take this to the reception desk and book the appointment. You DO NOT have to ring the centralised Hub to make the appointment.  The only time this may be requested if the appointment is over six weeks in advance when the schedules may not be on the clinical system.

In addition if you need to book a nurse appointment again you do not need to telephone the Hub to make this appointment.  You can visit the practice if you wish.  We are hoping in the next few weeks to have some pre bookable "on line" appointments for nurses available so that if you use the on line service you can book directly on there.

LOCKED TELEPHONE NUMBERS - Please note that the surgery telephone number will be displayed as a blocked number on your incoming calls if the surgery is trying to contact you.  Therefore if your telephone does not accept blocked numbers you will need to provide the surgery with an alternative, ie mobile number to call you on.  Some telephone companies allow you to give them numbers that you would like to accept telephone calls from.

Please Note: Repeat Prescriptions:

Please ensure that you hand your prescription in at least 5 working days before you need it to   guarantee that it is processed in time.

Have you registered for the on line service - it could save you time by just requesting your repeat medication on line.  In addition if you let the surgery know your preferred pharmacy your prescription can be sent electronically without the need for you to come in to the surgery to collect.  Ask at reception for details.

NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme

The surgery are taking part in the Healthier You: NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme which offers patients at risk of diabetes the chance to attend a programme aimed at reducing the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.

Identified patients will be invited to attend the programme by ICS Health and Wellbeing who will enclose information on the programme and an opportunity to book a place.
